Why Barry Bonds Is The Greatest Hitter Of All Time
Saturday, September 8th, 2007Barry Bonds has been much maligned for unsubstantiated rumors about steroid use but what he's done speaks for itself. He has been the greatest hitter of all time. When you look at the combination of what he's done over a long period of time and his incredible peak level (2001 through 2004) you see a player that is only challenged by Babe Ruth & Ted Williams.
While Bonds plays during an era clouded with steroid accusations one must remember that the pitchers are just as guilty if not more so! Things always equal out in that way.
Bonds is the all time leader in Home Runs, Walks, Intentional Walks, Runs, Times on Base, Power/Speed #, & Runs Created. He's also in the top 10 in RBIs, OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+, AB/HR, and Total Bases.
Barry Bonds is also the all time leader with 7 MVPs. Second place? 3.
