Why on earth is Nvidia so slow and ATI coming out with all these high end cards sooner. I have a Gigabyte Motherboard so this would be perfect.

  2. CrayonGaming Says:

  3. MLGProXBuddy175X Says:

can 2 of thees fit in a CM storm sniper black edition?

  7. wickedn1990 Says:

@uphill248 Having more cards doesnt mean a better picture. Unless you want max screen resolution. Your Monitor would be how good your picture is.. The card would be how good the Frame Rate is when it comes to game play and your settings.

  8. MJ4everTheKing Says:

@Tjanyr you will be able to play the future games, so yes

  9. uphill248 Says:

Ok, I need some help with this. I was planning on get 2 ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB.
1.) Does that mean if I get 2 cards I will have a better Picture?
2.) And 2 cards with 2GB each will work together as 4GB?
3.) OR SHOULD I JUST STICK WITH 1 ATI Radeon HD 5970 4GB, SINCE 4GB IS OUT NOW?
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE, AND ABOUT HAVING 2 CARDS WILL IT GIVE A BETTER PICTURE? Thanx

    @bobdonda:
    Thank you very much.

The 5970 was on sale for $149 at Tiger Direct where I live. The card was some kind of new promotion thing, don't know the details. When I phoned then earlier today, they said they had 2-3 left. I assume since this is such a high end card, there will be none left for that price. I guess I should have rushed in an bought one, but I didn't know if it was compatible with my PC.

  11. bobdonda Says:

@TheWiiplayTeam The 5750 is almost identical to the 4850. Do a google search for "video card benchmark" and click the first result to see a clear chart of just how powerful each card is. Replacing a 4850 with 5750 is a waste of money.

I'm not sure what you meant by "I meant the 5970"… because you can't buy a 5970 for $100 or $150.

But yes, the 5970 uses the same slot on the motherboard as every other video card.

  12. TheWiiplayTeam Says:

One more thing. There are only two of these cards left, so if it is sold out at the dealer then is the 5750 any good?

(The dealer is selling them for $149. I believe it is a Tiger Direct)

  13. TheWiiplayTeam Says:

I wish there was an edit button.
    I meant the 5970.

  14. TheWiiplayTeam Says:

    @bobdonda:
    I found the 5750 1GB for just over $100.
So, if the case is not the problem, all I really need to do is buy a new power supply and this card, and the card will fit into the same ports already being used by the 4850?
I do not need any additional ports/slots?

I don't know if this makes sense, but thanks a lot for answering.

  15. bobdonda Says:

@TheWiiplayTeam as he says at around 1:45, you will need a very big case for this card to fit inside. it is much longer than a 4850, and it needs much more power. it's unlikely you could remove your 4850 and just swap this in.

to answer your question though… as for the motherboard alone, the PCI Express video card slot connector is no different. so your motherboard can handle this card… the question is whether your case and power supply can. and your wallet.

  16. TheWiiplayTeam Says:

Few questions. (Also serious, I know little about new graphic cards)
My current card is the 4850, and I was wondering if this card will fit in my current motherboard. Like, if my 4850 fits, will this? Does my motherboard already have enough ports if the 4850 is running in it?

  17. kknyrass Says:

    o.O

  18. Tjanyr Says:

is the Ati Radeon 5970 2gb still great if you buy the single and not the dual?

  19. KALfilms Says:

    I'm getting Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
500GB Western Digital Caviar Black SATA II
    Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz PC3-12800
    Intel Core i7 930, 2.80GHz Intel Core i7 930, 2.80GHz
    Noctua NH-D14, 140mm fan
    Radeon HD 5970 2gb (2 of them)
    Fractal Design Newton R2, 1000W
    Cooler Master HAF 932
    Samsung 22X DL SH-S223C

Planning on getting this, is it any good? Will it fit the case? Wont overheat etc?

  20. Fawzi704 Says:

Much better video card, but too much noise in 3D, rather than with Vapor-X Sapphire.
    Very quiet and stable.

    thx for helping me :)
P.S sorry for 2 posts internet explorer hang on some moments so it posted twice

  25. wowjocke1 Says:

Hey I read your comment and i did a little reserch and you said your gonna upgrade to ddr3 and your motherboard isen't compatible with it that card is just compatible up to ddr2. And I don't know if your CPU can be combined to a motherboard that is compatible with ddr3. And you maybe need to buy a new powersuply becouse this graphic card needs much power. My advise buy a new computer. But build it yourself then you get better stuff for less money. : D
