You go to a site like http://www.1001fonts.com
download one of the fonts you like from there as a zip file, open it…
then from My Computer, browse to your windowsfonts folder and drag the font file out of the zip into the font folder.
Windows will say installing whatever font. You may need to restart the program that you are using to display the fonts for the new additions to be recognised.

Well there is a few ways you can go with this. You get free fonts by googleing free fonts or you can by the fonts on CD from your local computer store. Please note that with the free fonts you will will get non standard fonts (user created fonts) and if you Get Adobe Type Fonts you will ge more standard fonts that are comercialy accepted.
Once you get a font Trutype is the best for PC. open the Font file on your computer at the following location C:WINDOWSFonts
You must open the file so you see a window. drag the .ttf file into this window and you may see a scree pop up saying that it is loading the font.
There ya go

Google "icon fonts". Once you've found some nice ones. Download them to desktop. Then pick a folder, right click and go to properties. Then click customize. Then click change icon. Then browse and browse to where you downloaded it and click it. it will be in the place with the bunch of icons there, click on it and there you go.

There are a number of font websites out there. Most charge a ton of money but http://www.dafont.com has a host of free downloadable fonts. They have pretty much any kind of font you're looking for. They may not be the most famous ones but you can even find ones really similar to popular ones you have to buy.
First, because dafont.com has both Mac and PC versions of their fonts, make sure you download the Windows version. It's easiest to download onto your desktop first. Then, click on the green Start menu bar on the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Go to My Computer. Then Click on Local Disk (C:) under Hard Disk Drives. Click on the WINDOWS folder. There should be a folder called Fonts. Drag the dafont.com files into there. Once you do that, you can use those fonts in any program on your computer.
